Prince Charles held Prince Louis dearly in his arms with the tot's arms wrapped around his neck. Prince Charles's expression of utter contentment shows just how happy he is to be a grandfather.

One commenter wrote: "I hope the pandemic will end soon and Grandpa Wales will give his grandchildren as many hugs and kisses as possible." With lockdown in place, Louis will have to be content having a birthday party with George and Charlotte in Norfolk and seeing his grandparents, Charles and Camilla, and Michael and Carole Middleton, by video call.

Charles is next in line for the British throne. Since the replacement of male-preference primogeniture with absolute primogeniture, Louis is the first British prince to be ranked behind an elder sister, in the line of succession. His sister, Princess Charlotte, is fourth in line while his brother Prince George is third.

The 71-year-old is currently spending his time in self-isolation in Birkhall estate with his wife and Duchess of Cornwall, Camilla.
