Chandler Powell Says Daughter Is ‘Legend At Spotting Wildlife’ On Family Walk With Bindi Irwin

Bindi’s romance with Powell has captivated fans of the Irwin family since July 2019 when the two announced their engagement. From what fans have heard of the couple, it often seems like Bindi and Powell are a match made in heaven. Take the couple’s wedding as an example. Although the global pandemic forced Bindi and Powell to change some of their arrangements, they still managed to have what seemed like a magical wedding in the gardens of the Australia Zoo in Queensland on March 25, 2020. Their ceremony even included a koala — not to mention a beautiful floral arrangement.

The 22-year-old Bindi gave birth to her first child, Grace Warrior Irwin Powell, on March 25, 2021, which she and Powell, 24, announced to the world on social media. The couple’s announcement soon went viral as Irwin fans from around the world heard the news. As if the birth of the animal-loving couple’s first baby wasn’t special enough, Bindi and Powell revealed that Grace was also born on their first wedding anniversary.

Since that special day, both Irwin and her husband have been keeping fans up to date via social media, posting photos and videos with the newborn regularly. Most recently, Powell called his daughter a "legend" at spotting wildlife, which is pretty amazing considering she is born into a legendary family who are themselves excellent at not just spotting wildlife but taking care of it as well.

Being the granddaughter of the late Steve Irwin leaves a beautiful legacy for Grace to follow as she grows up surrounded by a loving family.

In the photo which was uploaded on June 8, 2021, Powell wrote, "Family walks❤️ Grace saw her first wild swamp wallaby, noisy pitta and possum. She’s already a legend at spotting wildlife."

The adorable Grace is seen sleeping in a stroller in the first photo, while the second photo was a picture of Grace with Irwin and Powell. This is just one photo among many that the couple has shared of their life and their family with their fans. Both Irwin and Powell have kept their lives very open ever since they got together.

According to CNN, Bindi, who has become a conservationist and television star in the spirit of her late father Steve Irwin, married then-24-year-old Powell on March 25, 2020. In keeping with the family’s love for animals, Bindi and Powell held the secret wedding in the gardens of Australia Zoo in Queensland. As bizarre and unusual as that may seem, the zoo still belongs to the Irwin family — in fact, the family lives there together — as it’s the same facility that Bindi’s grandparents opened in the 1970s. And now, it’s become the place where Bindi and Powell tied the knot.

Days after the then-21-year-old Bindi tied the knot at the candlelit zoo wedding in Queensland, Australia, Bindi’s mother reflected on the fact that her husband didn’t get the chance to see their daughter married.

The late Australian zookeeper, Steve, was best known for his charming role on the show “The Crocodile Hunter.” He died in 2006 at the age of 44 after a stingray pierced his chest while the star was filming a documentary, according to CNN

The 44-year-old father's death led to an outpouring of support from fans, environmentalists and friends of the idiosyncratic television host. Steve's show, "The Crocodile Hunter," was so successful that it appeared in more than 100 countries on cable television. The star was also a frequent guest on talk shows like "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno" to "Live With Regis and Kelly." He is perhaps most remembered for his enthusiastic catchphrases like "Check out the size of this bloke!" and "Crikey!"

Since 2018, Bindi has amassed a following of her own fans through the Australian reality television show "Crikey! It's the Irwins." Robert and Terri — and now Powell — also appear on the show. Bindi and Chandler's journey throughout parenthood was documented on the "Crikey! It's a Baby!Discovery series.

In the premiere, Bindi got emotional thinking about how baby Grace will never meet her late father, Steve. Bindi said:

"It's hard knowing that she'll never get to actually meet him and it's devastating because I'll never get to watch their connection. But, I can not wait to be able to tell beautiful Grace all of these stories about dad, to be able to share with her what an amazing father he..."

With Chandler by her side, Bindi began to cry as she went on and said:

"It's going to be…it's going to be really special…It's going to be really special for her to know him through us, to tell her about what an amazing man he was...He would have loved her so much."

Eventually, Bindi's mom Terri chimed in to add that Steve would have made a wonderful grandfather. Although baby Grace will never get to meet Steve, we're sure that she'll carry on his same spunk and spirit.
