CEO Gives Entire Staff $10,000 Each And Two First-Class Tickets

It’s safe to say we’ve all had some pretty rough days at work, but fortunately there are also plenty of amazing days, too. Your work environment can really make or break your overall experience with a company, such as interactions with your co-workers and your boss. Feeling like you have a home away from home is a goal a lot of people set out to have when they start a job, and it seems like a group of workers finally found that.

A group of co-workers was blown away by just how much their boss really cared about them. On Oct. 21, 2021, the CEO of their company, Sara Blakely, decided to show just how appreciative she was of all of the people who worked for her and who believed in her mission.

Blakely is the CEO of Spanx, an American underwear maker that focuses on shaping briefs and leggings. It was originally founded in Atlanta, Georgia, in the year 2000. It quickly took off, becoming a huge staple in undergarments for both men and women. After working so hard to accomplish her dreams, Blakely wanted to share the happiness and give back to those who helped her get where she is now.

To celebrate the company’s success, Blakely gave every single employee two first-class plane tickets to anywhere in the world along with $10,000 each to spend on their amazing trip. Many employees were completely blown away by the CEO’s kindness and generosity, and some immediately began planning where they were going to go and what they were going to do on their incredible upcoming adventures.

On Oct. 21, 2021, Blakely shared a video on her Instagram filled with plenty of happy surprises for her staff. She talked about the sale and partnership with Blackstone and grew more emotional as she talked about just how far her company had come in the past 21 years. According to Lad Bible, Blakely’s company is now valued at $1.2 billion. Celebrating just how far she’s come, the CEO decided to share the wealth.

With her trusty red college backpack in hand, Blakely delivered a heartwarming speech about just how much she appreciated her employees and how they have shown to be just as dedicated to Spanx as she is. “I think this is a really big moment in time for women,” Blakely said. “I want to toast the women who came before me, and all of the women in the world who have not had this opportunity.”

Showing her sincere appreciation, Blakely gave every employee two first-class tickets to any destination of their choice along with $10,000 to go toward the trip’s other expenses, like hotels, food and entertainment. The employees were absolutely shocked. Most of them immediately began planning their personalized trips, with some of the locations they hoped to visit, including Japan, South Africa, Sweden, Bora Bora and Antarctica.

Blakely wrote in her Instagram post’s caption, “I really want every employee to celebrate this moment in their own way and create a memory that will last them a lifetime! Cheers to 21 years of magic and many more to come.”
