Celine Dion paid tribute to her late husband on the 4th anniversary of his death. Rene Angélil passed away in 2016 after suffering a heart attack. The star opened up about what it was like to grieve her late husband and how she has continued on with her career and their three children together.

Angélil had been Dion's manager since she was 12 years old. However, the relationship between the two was not romantic until Dion was much older. Angélil and Dion talked about how they met in an interview with Larry King in 1999.

"We were in Dublin, in Ireland for the Euro Vision contest 1988 and at night when we kissed goodnight we always kissed on the cheek, and that night I made a little stop right here," Angélil said motioning towards his lips, "And everything changed."

Dion said she was in love with Angélil for a long time before that night.

Dion posted a photo of Angélil recently on the fourth anniversary of his death. She wrote next to the photo of her late husband and a puppy:

"There is not a day that goes by without me thinking about your beautiful smile. We miss you, thank you for watching over us my love. I love you. Céline xx"

Dion opened up to The Sun about Angélil's passing saying, “I think I will probably grieve for the rest of my life." But she optimistically added,

“Rene has prepared me for all my life since I’m 12. I have never met another man in my life, never kissed another man in my life. I miss him a lot. I miss him a lot — for my partner, for the man I was embracing, kissing, making love with. My worries, my dreams ...”

Dion told GMA that she is "learning to make her own decisions, taking on new projects and slowly finding confidence again, without the man who guided her life for so long and helped propel her to stardom."

Now, when she sings her famous song, My Heart Will Go On, it takes on new meaning for her. She makes it clear, “When I sing, it’s with him. When I hug my kids, it’s for him and it’s with him. I took time to grieve and I’m still grieving.”

In her latest interview with The Project, stated in In Style, she says her late husband lives on in the eyes of their kids.
