On Friday morning, January 17, tragedy struck when Celine Dion's mother, Therese Dion, passed away at the age of 92.

But instead of taking some time off to mourn her mother's death Celine Dion felt like the show had to go on.

Though Celine Dion had just lost her mother, she promised her fans that she would still be performing all of her upcoming concerts, in an Instagram post on Friday afternoon. Over the weekend the singer even got up on stage at the American Airlines Arena in Miami to perform a concert that she dedicated to her mother.

On Friday, the very same day Celine's mother had passed away, she ended her show with a tribute to her mother.

The singer performed an emotional cover of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" while a picture of her mother was shown on the stage's backdrop.

On Friday, Celine also shared an old family photo on her Instagram with the caption: "Maman, we love you so much… We dedicate tonight’s show to you and I’ll sing to you with all my heart."

The following day the singer posted a video of her "Somewhere Over the Rainbow"-performance captioning it: "Je t’aime maman."
