Celine Dion Actually Has A Whole Warehouse To Store Her 10,000 Pairs Of Shoes

Some people collect stamps, some need to find room for their collection of baseball cards, but what happens when you have a massive collection of shoes that take up way more room than those little pieces of paper? Just ask Celine Dion, who recently told James Corden on “Carpool Karaoke,” that she has a warehouse to house her mind-boggling 10,000 pairs of shoes.

That pales in comparison to Imelda Marcos’ collection, the most infamous shoe hoarder of all, who the New York Times reported only had 1,060 pairs. Of course, people want to know exactly why she has so many, and she spoke with WWD, “I cannot give anything away because every piece that I buy has brought me to where I am tonight, They’re part of every step that I take and I have an attachment to it,” she told WWD. “You can call it crazy. I keep everything, but I just keep buying a bigger space. I have 10,000 pairs of shoes.”

When she spoke with James Corden she revealed another layer to this obsession: She had a digital walk-in shoe closet in her home in Florida. Just like Cher Horowitz’s enviable closet in “Clueless,” they were organized by color and you could press a button before your desired pair would arrive in front of you.

Dion is currently residing at Caeser’s Palace in Las Vegas and had to move her collection there. She revealed that retail therapy has helped with the 2016 death of her husband Rene Angelil. Corden thought it was time to cut down the collection a bit and so during the “Carpool Karaoke” segment of the “Late Late Show,” the two sang her greatest hits and passed out some of her shoes to unsuspecting passersby.
