The best kind of friendship isn't always the kind of relationship you would expect. For this couple that's exactly the case. Check out the story of Jack and Diane, the donkey and emu.

Both Jack and Diane were abandoned and left to take care of themselves. The great news is that they were taken in by the Carolina Waterfowl Rescue. Their rescuers were concerned about how bonded the couple was. They were inseparable. They wanted to be around each other and no-one else. They needed someone that would be willing to take them both in even though they had totally different needs.

And Jeffery Dean Morgan was just the person to do it.

People know Morgan from the show "The Walking Dead", but he isn't anything like his character. You wouldn't ever guess that Morgan and his wife own a farm in New York. They have many animals that they care for themselves.

Morgan heard about the story of Jack and Diane and decided to go on Twitter. He commented on the story and said that if they were looking for someone to take in Jack and Diane to a forever home that he would be happy to take them in. He went on to say that he could keep them together on their farm. He said they would be a welcomed addition to the rest of their happy creatures.

It wasn't long before the organization accepted his offer. Before he knew it, Jack and Diane were on their way to their new home in New York.

As they were loading up the two for their transport. Jack was the first to go in. Diane was very concerned and starting looking for him every time he was out of sight. It didn't take much convincing to get her to load up. Once she did, she settled in right next to Jack.

They left early in the morning because it's better to travel with emus when it's dark. This way the two were able to sleep on the ride to their new home. Once they woke up they would get to meet their new mom and dad, Jeffery Morgan and Hilarie Burton.

After they made their way there, Jack and Diane settled right into their new home. The rescue organization posted about how they were so happy to have Morgan and his wife take them in and how they are going to love their new home. They posted some pictures from the day and went on to say how amazing Jeffery and Hilarie are. They stated that they were beyond caring and you could tell how much they love every single animal on their farm. Jack and Diane won't be an exception. They are sure they will be loved just the same!
