He had a difficult home-life as a child
You might have known that Keanu was born in Beirut, Lebanon, but he also grew up all over the world in Sydney, New York, and then settling down in Toronto. His girlfriend Jennifer Syme passed away in an accident
Jennifer had delivered their stillborn baby girl Ava at 8 months old, and the tragedy had put a strain on the couples’ relationship. They broke up and only a few weeks afterward, Jennifer died in a car crash on the way home from a party. Twenty years later and Keanu still hasn’t had a long-term relationship, reports E.
His best friend died when he was 23
Reeves was best friends with actor River Phoenix, who passed away from a drug overdose at the young age of 23.
“I enjoyed his company. Very much. And enjoyed his mind and his spirit and his soul. We brought good out in each other,” He told Rolling Stone. “He was a real original thinker. He was not the status quo. In anything.”
He donated a large sum of money to leukemia research
Reeves has a younger sister named Kim who was diagnosed with leukemia, and in response, he donated 70% of his income from “The Matrix” to leukemia treatment and research reports MSN. His sister went into remission in 1999.
He celebrates his birthday low-key

Keanu was photographed by himself in New York City celebrating his 46th birthday eight years ago. He had a little cupcake with a candle in it and a cup of coffee, and chatted with fans and strangers as they strolled by, reports The Daily Mail.
He takes public transport and gives up his seat
A Reddit user was secretly filming Keanu one day on the New York subway, and they caught him on film giving up his seat for a lady carrying a bag. He traveled the rest of the way standing up and holding on to a pole.
He once bought a snack just to sign an autograph for a fan
A movie theater employee was too shy to ask for Reeves’ autograph. But apparently Reeves could tell they were a fan, and he bought a snack at the counter just so he could sign the receipt and give it to the fan.
