Catherine Zeta-Jones Posts Funny Video Of Daughter Carys Comparing Her To Onscreen Child Wednesday Addams

Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones are one of Hollywood's most beloved couples, although they generally keep a lower profile than others. Together they share two beautiful children, Carys Zeta Douglas and Dylan Zeta Douglas.

Douglas and Zeta-Jones' romance is one for the ages. Both actors first built their names in Hollywood — Douglas was born into Hollywood royalty as the son of actors Diana and Kirk Douglas, but managed to get out of his father's shadow and establish his own career, while Zeta-Jones started acting in her native Wales and rose up in the UK industry before making it big in Tinseltown.

The couple famously met in 1996 at the Deauville Film Festival. According to E! Online, Zeta-Jones knew that Douglas wanted to meet her, but she was wary of this because she didn't know what that would exactly mean. They got off to a rocky start when Douglas told Zeta-Jones after about half an hour, "You know, I'm going to be the father of your children," to which Zeta-Jones responded, "You know, I've heard a lot about you and I've seen a lot about you, and I think it's time I say goodnight."

But they obviously made an impression on one another, as they started dating, despite their 25-year age gap. By New Year's Eve of 1999, they were engaged, and they got married the following year in New York. Given how their relationship has unfolded, Zeta-Jones is probably quite happy that she had the great fortune to meet Douglas and took a chance on their union.

The family of four is incredibly close and frequently shares special moments together on social media. Hot off the attention from her role in Netflix's "Wednesday," in which she plays Morticia Addams, Zeta-Jones posted about her own real-life Wednesday Addams — a throwback video of her daughter Carys!

Carys is following in Zeta-Jones and Douglas' footsteps in the spotlight and is overcoming the pressure of being the daughter and granddaughter of successful Hollywood actors. It is commendable to see Carys carving out a niche for herself. Although she isn't necessarily interested in acting, she's following other passions of hers — ones that are more than achievable given the notable fame of her parents and her late grandfather.

Like her mother, who is a noted style icon, Carys seems to have an interest in and eye for fashion and has even had the opportunity to pursue it. In 2017, she attended fashion week for the first time. The following year, Carys went to New York a second time and enjoyed the fashion shows and parties all over again, including those of Michael Kors and Dolce & Gabbana. She was probably thrilled to be able to attend the event for the second year in a row, even though she was then only a teenager. Carys told Town & Country in an interview:

"Fashion has been so important in my life, because my mom is like a fashion icon to me. I’m always looking through her closet.”

Carys even has her own favorite item from her mom's closet: “She has this one thing, and it’s absolutely crazy. It’s this pink kimonoey coat, but it has this fur and these fringes. It’s just so cool.”

The young fashionista has been attending more and more fashion events — often with her famous mom. The pair attended a Fendi fashion show in Rome in 2019 and appeared in a campaign for the label, as well as making the cover of Vanity Fair Spain together that same year.

With so much momentum of late about how much Carys is inspired by and takes after her famous mom, it's no surprise then that Zeta-Jones compared her real-life daughter to her onscreen one.

As one of the stars in Netflix's Addams family remake series "Wednesday" — which debuted in November 2022 and became the first English-language show on the platform to exceed 400 million viewing hours in one week — Zeta-Jones compared Carys to the famous character of Wednesday Addams, her onscreen daughter in the show. Alongside a throwback video of Carys as a little girl — wearing a stripy black-and-white shirt and dark eye makeup — in what appeared to be a school play, Zeta-Jones wrote:

"Carys, my real daughter as a little girl. 🤣 I have had a Wednesday Addams in my life for 19 years and 9 months.🤣 Morticia and I love you my little rain cloud🖤"

Carys' sassy side was on display in the adorable video, as she looked unenthused to be on stage and gave a wide-eyed glance at the camera. The character Wednesday is known for her dry sense of humor and wicked side.

A fan seemed to concur with Zeta-Jones' post and commented, "I mean we all have a little Wednesday in us."

Now that Carys and Dylan are young adults, their time in the spotlight is ramping up. Dylan accompanied his mom to the premiere of "Wednesday" in Los Angeles, where Zeta-Jones gushed about her children's support of her and her career. She told People:

"Both my daughter and Dylan have been so incredibly supportive to me, not just as an actor, but just me, you know. ...  I've been extremely blessed to be able to have both in my life."

We're sure Carys and Dylan feel just as blessed to have Zeta-Jones as their mom!
