Cat Who Once Lived Rough Life On The Streets Of Minnesota Purs Uncontrollably When He Moves Into New Home

It's no mistake to assign human qualities to animals like dogs and cats. Time and again, we see or hear stories of animals that make us wonder what's going on in their little brains.

As further proof, some old cats know how to play our heartstrings, just like a cat named Bruce Willis. By the time he arrived at the Animal Humane Society in Minnesota, it was clear he had not been living an easy life. Some animals have this ability to tell their life stories with a simple grin or frown. Such is the case with Mr. Willis.

He wore the battle scars of the streets. He was suffering from the Feline Immunodeficiency Virus. Still, he seemed to have this incredible determination to keep fighting until he reached the promise-land, which to him was likely nothing more or less than living in a loving home.

To draw adoption interest, a Humane Society staff member posted a picture of Bruce Willis online and described him as the sweetest and most affectionate boy around.

After one month in the shelter, Mr. Willis caught the eye of Sandra, who was using International Cat Day as her motivation to look for a feline companion. When she came across Bruce's picture she fell in love with him. Sandra's interest in adopting Mr. Willis was only diminished by the fact she was living in a "no pets allowed" apartment complex.

Not to be deterred, she decided to ask for a special exception from her landlord. With her written request, she sent Mr. Willis' picture – And it worked!

Mr. Willis entered his new home and immediately made himself at home as he stretched out on the floor. As a way to show gratitude for his newfound fortune, he began purring his approval. The purring continued for the first full day of his new life with Sandra.

We hope you will pass this story along in hopes of inspiring your friends to consider adopting a pet this holiday season. Additionally, we would be interested in hearing about any of your interesting encounters with animals that brought out the best in you.
