The Camp Fire Wildfire destroyed property, lives, and dreams as it swept through California. Out of the ashes came some inspirational stories; like this bond between a sweet grey tabby cat and her hero, fireman Ryan Coleman.

On November 10, Ryan Coleman and countless other firemen from all over the country visited the devastation of the Camp Fire blaze in hopes to quell the blistering flames and help save the people who were left behind.

As it turns out, there were plenty of non-human creatures that were vulnerable and in need of rescue too, like a giant grey tabby cat who became Ryan Coleman's BFF after the fires went out.

Ryan Coleman was on site lending a hand to some of the furry residents who had been frightened and displaced by the blaze. His job was to help the cats, specifically, and his good deeds did not go unnoticed by a grey tabby that he'd saved from the flames.

Cats are notoriously finicky and most of them are not human-friendly. They prefer to be aloof and do their own thing, but not this particular cat! She was immediately affectionate towards Ryan Coleman, head-butting him, rubbing on his legs and even climbing up onto his shoulders for the perfect photo-op pic!

It just shows that a little bit of love can go a long way! Ryan Coleman and his team provided food, shelter, and water for the grey tabby and other cats in the area. In addition to making sure that they were fed and watered, he and his crew also kept the dangerous flames of the Camp Fire away from the cats' shelter.

As for the grey tabby, Ryan Coleman posted a photo of his furry buddy online, and the owner was located. They were unable to claim the cat and requested that Ryan Coleman leave it with one of her neighbors until she could collect it.

This is truly one of the most inspirational stories to come out of the horrific natural disaster that was the Camp Fire Wildfire. During times like these, it is important to stick together and help where we can.

Ryan Coleman and his team did just that; coming to the aid of creatures that were far more vulnerable than themselves and in the end- making a new feline friend for life!

Who knows how many countless animals that firefighters like Ryan Coleman were able to save during this deadly blaze? The unlikely friendship of a firefighter and the grey tabby that he managed to whisk from the flames is a story that will live on for decades to come.
