Cat Puzzled By Kittens, But End Brings Smile To Our Face

Mason the cat is an older feral cat with advanced kidney disease. His owners decided to take him in so he could live his last months in peace, and after a few adjustments, he adapted well to indoor life. When Mason's owners decided to bring in some foster kittens, the older cat did not initially know quite how to react.

Mason was one of these cats. In this tear-jerking video, we learn his story. Aside from being feral, he had lots of health problems, including kidney problems and a bad foot. Instead of putting him down, a family decided to give him a chance to live, giving him a comfortable place to sleep and healing his maladies.

In the video, we see the poor, frightened cat evolve. He starts out as a soul in deep pain, becoming a member of their household. Though he prefers his personal space, he plays with the toys that the family gave him. Over time, he loses his fear of interacting with them. He has been given a second chance, and we can see his gratitude.

It reminds us that sometimes, instead of avoiding a person who’s feeling down, we should try to be their friend. With enough love, we might save them from a very dark place, making a new friend in the process.

The end of this video is a tear-jerker. Mason’s new family brings in two kittens, and they find where he is hiding—a cushion under the bed. At first he is suspicious of the kittens, watching them make rounds and sniff him. When they decide to climb into the cushion with him, he’s startled, but he doesn’t stop them.

Finally, we see them snuggle up to Mason in an expression of selfless love. This love seems to complete the process of healing his wounded heart. Mason curls up around the two kittens and falls asleep with them, no longer a feral cat but a loving member of a family.

We should learn from this beautiful story. Humans are so seldom willing to let people in if they’re hurting; they might be missing the chance to make a best friend.
