Aside from Dolly PartonReba McEntireTim McGrawGarth Brooks, and many other country music legends, another artist that many would think of when someone says country music is Carrie Underwood.

Underwood stands out among other country music artists with her very distinctive high-register voice. In a review of one of her concerts, The Times Union described that "she'll let loose with an improbably long note that runs through more octaves than you knew existed."

Born on Mar. 10, 1983, Underwood started her singing career when she was young, performing at their church in Muskogee, Oklahoma. The singer finally skyrocketed to fame in 2005 following her win on the hit competition series "American Idol."

Following the show, Underwood went on to release a number of successful singles and albums while showcasing her incredible voice and vocal abilities. Some of her most well-known songs include "Before He Cheats," "All-American Girl," and "Jesus, Take The Wheel." Receiving plenty of awards and recognition, Underwood has gone on to become one of the most popular female country singers of all time.

Along with her success in the music industry, Underwood is also living a very colorful family life. She has been married for 12 years to Canadian-American National Hockey League player Mike Fisher. Fisher, who is more extroverted, seems to complement Underwood, who is actually a little more reserved than how people perceive her to be. The pair also have two children together.

While many people know Underwood for being a country superstar, one of her sons has started to realize that his mom’s job may not be so normal.

There’s no denying that Underwood has a flourishing career. In March 2022, the singer released the single “Ghost Story,” which served as the lead single for her ninth studio album “Denim & Rhinestones.” The album was later released in June 2022. The album debuted at No. 10 on the Billboard Top Albums chart.

Despite their bustling careers, Underwood and Fisher have always made time for each other and for their family. The couple has two children together. They welcomed their first child, Isaiah Michael, in 2015, and their second child, Jacob Bryan, in 2019.

According to Hello! Magazine, the couple lives on a 400-acre farm in Tennessee. Their home has several bedrooms, bathrooms, living rooms and a basement. Their room has its own walk-in closet with floor-to-ceiling wardrobes. The property also has private horse stables and a lake. However, it’s a different part of the home that is Underwood’s “happy place” – her garden, which is filled with seasonal fruits and vegetables.

The country music singer has also shared pictures of herself doing chores, such as one from Facebook where she could be seen doing laundry. As a small-town girl, it only seems fitting that Underwood has found joy in doing household chores and spending plenty of quality time with her loved ones.

However, nothing in her home life compares to spending time with her loved ones. Over the years, Underwood has shown how much her kids mean to her. Her son Isaiah was even featured on one of her holiday songs, “The Little Drummer Boy.” It’s not surprising that the young boy has a fondness for music, given who his mom is!

Even when the “Some Hearts” singer is on the road, she never forgets about her family – and sometimes, her family is right there with her.

In September 2019, Underwood posted a heartwarming photograph on her Instagram of her family proudly watching her concert. She wrote in the caption:

“One of my favorite things about the #CryPrettyTour360 is having my family out on the road with me. I just hope I’m making my boys proud of their mama ❤️ #blessed #boymom #Wichita.”

Since then, Underwood’s family has continued to join her on the road. Speaking with TODAY representative Sheinelle Jones, Underwood talked about how she planned on spending time with her husband and sons while on the “Denim & Rhinestones Tour.” The tour kicked off in October 2022 and is set to conclude in late March 2023.

The singer explained that she would switch from having her family come to visit her in different cities along the tour route, or she would fly home during her days off. “They’ll be out to visit,” Underwood shared. “This tour, I’m going home a lot more than I ever have before. If there’s a way to get me home, even if it’s just for the day.”

Taking all of that into consideration, it’s no wonder that Underwood’s eldest son has started to realize that his mom is famous. “I feel like Isaiah, who’s 7 and a half, he’s becoming more aware that it’s not normal,” Underwood said about her job.

“He’ll go to school and someone will be like, ‘I saw your mom on TV last night,” she added. “He’s just becoming more aware that his mom does something that’s not normal.”

Underwood is grateful for such a supportive family, as singing and performing are incredibly important to her. She explained, “I love to sing. When I’m onstage, I feel like I’m at home."
