Bond Leo Bure was born on August 4 — and the world only found out about him nearly two months later. His parents, Lev Bure and Elliott Bure, had a reason for the wait. Bond was born 10 weeks early, weighing exactly 3 pounds. He was transferred immediately to the NICU. For five weeks and five days, Lev and Elliott lived the life that NICU parents live — the hospital hours, the prayers, the tears, the watching and waiting. And then they brought their miracle boy home.
"Bond was born 10 weeks early at exactly 3 lbs and was transferred immediately to the NICU," Elliott wrote when she finally shared the news. "Through lots of tears, countless prayers, and what felt like endless hours in the hospital, 5 weeks and 5 days later we finally brought our miracle boy home!! Thank you to the entire staff of nurses and doctors who took the most incredible care of our baby. Thank you Jesus for every answered prayer! We are blessed beyond measure!!!!"
The announcement made Candace Cameron Bure a grandmother for the first time. The "Full House" star responded in the comments with characteristic warmth. "Bond Leo is a miracle baby," she wrote. "You and Lev are the most amazing parents, and we are here for every minute of it."
Andrea Barber — who played Kimmy Gibbler to Candace's D.J. Tanner across all eight seasons of "Full House" and its Netflix revival "Fuller House" — was among those who commented. "Absolutely precious," she wrote.
Lev, who works in the family business alongside his parents, and Elliott married in January 2024. Bond Leo is their first child.
The arrival of Bond Leo comes at a remarkable moment for the Bure family. Candace's daughter Natasha Bure Perry — who married actor Bradley Steven Perry — is also pregnant with her first child, meaning Candace is expecting two grandchildren in close succession. Lev and Natasha announced their pregnancies at similar times, and Candace responded to both with the kind of visible, unguarded joy that has always characterized her public persona.
