Doctors and hospital staff are always doing whatever they can to keep their patients calm. This is especially true with children's hospitals where the methods can get rather creative. Hospitals can be a scary place for these kids who are fighting illness or injury and a little fun can go a long way to distract them.

Dr. Paulo Martins knows how important this is and uses his own personal talents to brighten the day of his little patients. It turns out he's just as good at singing and playing the ukulele as he is in medicine.

While almost all of the children at Hospital das Clínicas in Ribeirão Preto love hearing his music, one patient in particular completely captured his heart and enjoyed every moment of his songs.

Little Sophia Ramo Bueno has an immune system disorder at only 17 months old so she is in São Paulo a lot getting treated for her illness. These treatments tend to wear her out and leave her completely exhausted as well as a little bit grumpy.

That is until she overheard Dr. Paulo Martins strumming his ukulele and she knew that she needed to hear more!

Sophia heard him from her room playing on her floor and followed the sound of his voice and ukulele. She waited outside the door of the room Dr. Paulo Martins was playing in and followed him to the next and the next.

When he realized that he had an enthralled member of the audience, he realized that she was hoping he'd play a song that was special for her. He didn't know any kid's songs, but Sophia's dad let him know that she liked grown-up music and really loved country.

As luck would have it, the good doctor knew how to play her favorite song, “Eu sei de Cor” by Marília Mendonça!

The whole thing was caught in an adorable video where she danced along and tapped her feet. She wouldn't let the IV attached to her stop her from being able to get down with the music.

Sophia wasn't ready for the music to end when he stopped playing and stared at the doctor anticipating the next song. Not wanting to leave his audience wanting more, he kept on playing for his newest fan!

Music can change things for the better along with a little bit of kindness. How has music touched your life? Have you or a friend had any songs that helped you get through some hard times? Ask your family and friends the same questions and send them this sweet video!
