Camera In Office Elevator Reveals Police Officers Secretly Dancing Up A Storm

Dancing brings joy to people the world over. Whether you're engaging in a waltz or a rumba, feeling the music and dancing is one of the happiest things a person can do. It's also been said that dance is a timeless interpretation of life, which is why watching people groove on social media has been one of the best past times so far.

Seeing professional dancers, and even artists like Beyonce, Lady Gaga and even Chris Brown, is a delight to watch, especially since they are very skilled and use theatrics to ramp up the whole performance.

But what thrills everyone lately is when uniformed people like troops, or even police officers, who are usually stern, reserved and serious, bust a move once in a while.

Seven years ago, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Deputy Tony Scherb made waves online after a video of him dancing in the elevator went viral, as he celebrated his upcoming retirement at the time following 29 years of service in the police force.

In a video posted by the El Paso County Sherriff’s Office in Colorado Springs, Colorado, on Jan. 30, 2016, the police force showed that even officers can let loose sometimes.

After a camera was placed in the elevator at the office, everyone thought they'd get serious video footage, but to their surprise, they wound up laughing after finding Deputy Tony Scherb, along with other cops, getting their boogie on.

As soon as the elevators closed, Scherb, dressed in a bright orange shirt, didn’t waste any time dancing to the most popular song at the time Silentó’sWatch Me (Whip/Nae Nae).”

Enjoying himself, Scherb even lipsynced to the lyrics and pulled out some good '80s dance steps while dancing to the modern hit. After a while, Deputy Reed, another police officer, joined Scherb and danced to the beat too, unleashing moves a senior police officer wouldn’t have actually thought about.

However, their good time was interrupted when one of their bosses, Chief Deputy Evan, entered and rode with them. The two were awfully quiet, trying to tame their dance personas while the chief was aboard.

But as soon as he left, the two quickly resumed dancing, and joining them was Deputy Murphy, who was seemingly in sync with Scherb and Reed in doing the iconic dance moves of the song.

Towards the end of the clip, they were joined by Sherrif Bill Elder, which sent the three cops quiet as they stood diligently as if nothing had happened. But to their surprise, Elder danced all of a sudden, to which they happily joined too.

The video has already amassed almost nine million views on Facebook, with commenters expressing their happiness on seeing the rare goofy videos of their brave defenders.

“I loved the video EPC! It's good to let civilians see that Officers are human and have a sense of humor, too! Even though we have to put on that serious and professional face when dealing with them on a call,” someone said.

“This made my morning watching it here on tv in Las Vegas, NV. Congratulations Deputy Scherb on your retirement. Have fun and enjoy. Thank you for your years of service and sacrifice. God bless you and the rest of the men and women in uniform,” another shared.
