Busker Invites Kelly Clarkson To Sing On The Streets Without Realizing Who She Is

Kelly Clarkson first became a household name in 2002 following her win on the hit competition series “American Idol.” Since then, the singer has sold millions of copies of her albums and toured across the world. Some of her most notable hits include “Since U Been Gone,” “My Life Would Suck Without You” and “Because of You.” With an incredible vocal tone and range, Clarkson has easily become one of the best and most recognizable pop stars in the US.

Along with being a highly accomplished singer, Clarkson has also appeared in a variety of films and TV shows and has become one of the most beloved women in the entertainment industry due to her hilarious personality and charming wit.

With nearly two decades in the public eye, Clarkson’s personal life has been on full display. She famously wed Brandon Blackstock— who happens to be Reba McEntire’s former stepson — in 2013. Together, they had two children, River and Remington, as well as two older children from Blackstock’s previous marriage.

But sadly, their union didn’t last, and in June 2020, Clarkson filed for divorce from Blackstock. Since then, they’ve endured a bitter battle over child custody and assets. Clarkson was awarded primary custody of their kids, and in October 2021, she also won their $10.4 million Montana ranch, which was a big sticking point in the divorce proceedings.

Since Clarkson has been an icon in the world of music, it would be surprising to see her sing on the streets, especially when you’re casually just going about your day. Keep reading to learn how an unsuspecting busker reacted when she invited the musician to sing along in September 2023.

In September 2023, Kelly Clarkson released the deluxe version of her successful album “Chemistry,” and even though people thought of the record as something that was inspired by her legal separation from her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, because of the tone of the songs, the musician quickly shut down everyone’s expectations as she clarified that it was not a divorce album.

That same month, the singer appeared on “The Today Show” to discuss her new album at the time and revealed that the entire project was written from a personal perspective.

Although she noted that it wasn’t a divorce album, Clarkson said the album was hard to make.

“It was hard to make, but it’s also not just (about) the bad of a relationship. … I didn’t want it to be a divorce album; I wanted it to be a relationship album. And there’s good stuff on there… There’s good parts,” she said, as reported by Billboard.

She further added that she also wanted to celebrate the good parts of the relationship, but most of her album was “sad.”

Around the same week as the interview, Clarkson was set to perform at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas, Nevada, where she performed some of her greatest hits as well as the new ones from her 2023 album.

In a heartwarming interaction, the musician shared a video on her Instagram in September 2023 where she could be heard singing Tina Turner’s classic song “What’s Love Got To Do With It.”

In the caption, the singer gave fans an insight into what happened between her and a busker she met on the streets of Las Vegas.

Clarkson explained that she was on her way to do a soundcheck for the music event that day when she stumbled upon a woman singing on the streets, so she decided to tip her.

“I was on my way to soundcheck for @iHeartRadio tonight in Vegas and was tipping this incredible woman killing some Tina Turner,” she wrote in the caption of the short clip.

The woman then asked her to sing the track, and she had no idea who she was.

“She asked me to sing and had no clue who I was, and then it hit her, and it made my day!” she added. While Clarkson was singing, the crowd around the area started cheering and clapping for her.

Later in the video, the busker appeared to be surprised when she realized that it was Clarkson singing right in front of her, so she gave her a big hug.

“She gives the best hugs and sings her tail off! See ya tonight Vegas ❤️,” Clarkson wrote.

After Clarkson shared the video with her followers, fans shared their heartwarming responses about the woman in the video.

“You can see the moment she realizes it's you 😂😂 so funny,” one wrote, while another one commented, “Who else watched this 10x? Love this 💕”

“And this is why you will forever be Americas #1 American Idol. 😊,” one wrote.

“We love you Kelly! You love the world freely and pure !” one praised Clarkson, then another user added, “This is what sets @kellyclarkson apart from the rest of them!! 🙌🙌 so pure and genuine.”
