Bus Driver Stops To Grab Blind Man Alone At Bus Stop But Doesn't Realize He's Being Filmed

Gene Hubbard, a 69-year-old senior from Milwaukee lost his eyesight from diabetes. But he hasn't let his physical limitation get in the way of living a productive life. Gene, like a number of other visually challenged individuals, relies on bus transportation to take him to and from his job. He has followed this arduous routine for roughly 20 years.

Gene is usually capable of navigating the intersection where he catches the bus for his morning commute. Just a short time ago, however, it became a construction zone. It soon became a maze of unfamiliar cones and barrels. Without some assistance, Gene may have ended up in a hazardous situation.

He remarked to local WITI news reporters, “If I don’t have a regular locating point to start from, I may as well be in the middle of the ocean.”

A young driver named Thaddeus happened to notice that Gene was having difficulty reaching his designated bus stop. The quick-thinking driver pulled his bus over to the curb. He then walked over to help Gene find his way. A passerby noticed what was happening and caught the helpful bus driver's thoughtful actions on camera.

When she posted her pictures on social media the story quickly caught the public's attention.
