Parents of school aged children are no stranger to notes being sent home in their children’s backpacks. From notes forewarning of lice infestations to letters detailing the upcoming month’s events, parents are typically inundated with paperwork. Yet when bus driver, Cindy Clausen, sent a note home with two of her elementary school aged riders, Jorge and Anneliese, this message was sure to put a smile on their mother’s face.

Clausen had noticed that Jorge and Anneliese were always taking the time to make another little boy’s day more special. That seven year old little boy, Jaxson Blue, suffers from a degenerative condition that makes mobility difficult.

Yet Jorge and Anneliese’s daily interactions of compassion and encouragement always put a smile on his face. From sitting with Jaxson on the bus to assisting him with his backpack, the siblings took extra steps out of their daily routine in order to ensure Jaxson was surrounded by kindness while in their presence.

Instead of simply thanking the children for their actions, Clausen decided to set pen to paper and send a letter home. Within it, she stated, “I am compelled to write to tell you how beautiful your children are, inside and out! This can only come from the home, your patience and guidance, the examples that you set and teach…” Throughout the 23 years Clausen has been driving a bus, she has sent multiple letters home, but this one was special due to the effects Jorge and Anneliese had on their new friend.

It’s always a blessing to see others appreciate random acts of kindness. Clausen’s letter illustrates that this bus driver truly cares about all of her passengers. It also reminds us that our children can be the best examples of generosity and kindheartedness in our communities.

What was the last random act of kindness you’ve witnessed? Let us know in the comments and pass this post on to your friends if Jorge and Anneliese’s compassionate acts made your day!
