Many animals are frightened by lightning and loud claps of thunder. Most dogs have the luxury of being safe and secure inside a home when severe weather strikes. For homeless dogs, the only option usually is to wait out the storm.

By doing so, they usually must endure the harsh elements without any type of shelter. This can be frightening as well as physically daunting.

Luckily, a Buenos Aires bus driver took pity on two homeless dogs and broke the rules to make them feel safe and secure throughout a terrible storm.

This heartwarming event took place when a bus driver happened to stumble upon two drenched dogs who were shivering from a chill and out of fear during a strong storm. The bus driver knew that his employer, the City of Buenos Aires, prohibits any animals from boarding city buses.

However, the man decided that showing compassion for animals in need was worth breaking the rules and potentially risking his job.

As you might imagine, some of the passengers noted the bus driver’s kindness. They made social media posts citing the driver's compassion, and they showed a few images of the dogs. Some passengers even asked their social media followers to help them find a home for the dogs.

The story of the bus driver’s kindness spread quickly on social media. While the posts were meant to show the bus driver’s compassion and to seek help for the animals, news of the bus driver’s workplace violation eventually reached his supervisors.

As a result, the City of Buenos Aires published a statement that firmly reiterated its no-animals policy on city buses. However, rather than punishing the man for his kindness, they stated that they made an exception in this case given the circumstances.
