Bus Driver Buys Homeless Man Dinner & Lets Him Ride Her Bus All Night To Stay Out Of The Cold

Being homeless when the weather turns colder can be a challenge. Thanks to one bus driver, one homeless man had somewhere to stay overnight when temperatures were near freezing.

The bus driver was on her route in Milwaukee when she was about to end her shift. Natalie Barnes was making plans to go home and get out of the cold when Richard boarded her bus. She could tell that the man was homeless and wanted to try to make him as comfortable as possible.

Natalie knew that it was supposed to get close to 32 °F that night (0 °C), so instead of making Richard get off the bus, she let him ride the entire night.

While Richard was on the bus, Natalie talked to him about his life and how he became homeless. He had been without a home for almost a week because the house had been condemned, forcing him to the streets as he had nowhere else to stay.

Natalie knew that she had to do something to help the man who didn't seem to have anyone else on his side. Richard stayed warm that night on the bus, sitting on one of the seats while Natalie continued to drive around the town, stopping on occasion to rest.

Natalie bought Richard a meal the next morning and told him that he could go to a local retail store to get some of the things that he might need to make staying on the street a little more comfortable.

Watch to see how Natalie and Richard talk to each other and how thankful Richard was for her help:
