Burt Reynolds was an established and loved actor, rising to fame during the 1960s and continuing to find great success as the years went on. He had talents as an actor, director and producer of both film and television, and was considered an icon of American pop culture. It’s no surprise that many of his works went on to become box office hits, and Burt himself received several award nominations.

Burt was born on Feb. 11, 1936. He quickly found fame with the TV series “Gunsmoke” from 1962 to 1965, before going on to appear in several other shows. His breakthrough role was as Lewis Medlock in the 1972 film “Deliverance.” From that point on, Burt continued to obtain leading roles in a variety of movies, including “All Dogs Go to Heaven,” “Smokey and the Bandit” and “The Cannonball Run.”

Although Burt’s career seemed to be everything anyone could hope for, his personal life had a few more complications. He was known for being handsome and a ladies’ man but had several failed relationships. Some of his most well-known partnerships include his relationship with Sally Field and his marriage with Loni Anderson. Burt also adopted one son named Quinton with Anderson.

Burt later ended up losing custody of Quinton following his divorce with Anderson, resulting in an impaired relationship between the two. However, Burt once said that his son was his greatest accomplishment. Nowadays, Quinton is just as handsome as his father once was. Read on to find out more about their relationship and what Quinton’s life is like today.

Burt will undoubtedly remain a pop culture icon for the work he did as an actor and director. Prior to his passing, he lived a very fulfilled and successful life, although there were some complications along the way.

There were some upsides to some of Burt’s relationships, including the one with Field. “I fell in love with the actress Sally Field when we worked on the 1977 film ‘Smokey and the Bandit,’ Burt said. “Sally and I proposed to each other more than once, but every time I wanted to get married, she didn’t and vice versa.” The pair broke up in 1980.

Field’s memoir, “In Pieces,” was released two weeks after Burt’s passing. The actress opened up about their relationship and admitted she had not spoken to him for a while. In an interview, she said, "Burt was an important person in my life, but for a very short period of time. But nonetheless, he was important." However, she explained that she had not spoken to Burt for a long time prior to his death.

Burt was married to Anderson from 1988 to 1994. During that time, they adopted a son named Quinton. His son was only 6 at the time of the divorce, and Burt ultimately believed that he would be better off living with Anderson. “The worst part of the divorce was losing custody of Quinton,” he explained. “...We talk on the phone, but it’s not a great relationship. I love him so much and I think he loves me, but we don’t spend as much time together as I’d like and it’s hard.”

Even though their relationship was not always easy, Burt valued having Quinton in his life. According to Closer Weekly, the father-son duo worked on rebuilding their relationship following their period of estrangement. “There’s nothing I can do about things that weren’t happy or good,” Burt said. “I just try not to dwell on those. Regrets are not healthy – it’s best to try and let go of those things that can’t be changed.”

Fortunately for the pair, they had grown closer in the more recent years leading up to Burt’s death. The actor spoke highly about his son. “He is my greatest achievement,” Burt explained. “He’s a wonderful young man and is now working as a camera assistant in Hollywood. He never asked for any help with his career, he did it all himself, and I’m so proud of him. I love him very much.”

Nowadays, Quinton is just as striking as Burt once was, proving that good looks and talent are definitely a major part of this beautiful blended family. According to Tuko, he is currently 33 years old and works as a cameraman and film editor. Some films he has worked on include “Starving in Suburbia” and “Ouija: Origin of Evil.” His net worth is estimated to be $1 million.

Following Burt’s death, PEOPLE reported that Quinton was left out of the late actor’s will, but was not forgotten. “I intentionally omit him from this, my Last Will and Testament, as I have provided for him during my lifetime in my Declaration of Trust,” Burt’s will stated. The will appointed Burt’s niece Nancy Lee Brown Hess as his estate’s representative.
