Bullying is hardly new, but the topic is now one that garners much attention. The news reports on bullying incidents to educate adults and children on how to avoid harassment.
Unfortunately, making the world free of bullies will never happen. A little girl found herself dealing with one, but she found several unlikely guardian angels looking after her. The protectors, surprisingly, were biker club members!
Ashley Wastakiewicz, a first-grader, allegedly suffered repeated torments from an 11-year-old bully reported WoodTV. Over time, the reported aggression went from verbal to physical. Ashley, sadly, found herself treated at a hospital for injuries. Mercifully, her injuries weren't too severe, and she made a full physical recovery.

Although Ashley's family filed criminal charges, little could be done to stop the situation. The young girl became so scared that she wouldn't leave the house. The sad image of a child staying inside all summer out of fear is heartbreaking.
Ashley's mom had no idea what to do. She made a Facebook post about the situation, hoping someone could provide insights on how to address the situation. The response was something no one ever expected.
The post caught the attention of the American Veterans Motorcycle Club of Jackson. The bikers thought they'd lend a hand to the little girl in need. The bikers showed up in full force. Photos show dozens of their Harleys parked in the neighborhood. The bikers met Ashley at the playground and gave her an escort home. They made their presence known to the bully who was allegedly bothering her as well.
