Have you ever been bullied? Growing up is hard for everyone, but growing up when you stand out more than most can make things even worse. That was the case for 15-year-old Victor, who dealt with bullies on a daily basis at his school.

But recently, a particularly negative incident became cause for police involvement, after Victor decided he'd had enough of the bullying.

Being visually impaired, Victor has a hard time seeing his surroundings. He’s made fun of for this disability, as well as for the thick glasses he has to wear because of it. He’s used to the bullying, but on this particular day, a bully went too far, pouring hot glue on Victor’s arm.

His teachers called 911 immediately. When two Denver police officers, Officers Monique Sedbury and Alicia Martine, arrived on the scene, they found out that Victor wanted to end his own life. They spoke to Victor and decided to take him to the hospital for psychiatric treatment.

They also decided to never leave him without a friend again.

After dealing with one of their toughest calls and being touched by Victor's story, the officers vowed to become his support system. Anytime Victor needed a friend to talk to, the officers picked up their phones.

Victor is now at a new school. He has managed to make an entirely new set of friends there, who also support him the way these police officers do.

Victor is also enrolled in a karate class, where he learns self-defense and discipline that will help him move through life with confidence and safety. These officers still support him and help him whenever he needs friends to talk to.

These officers, Monique Sedbury and Alicia Martine, went well above the call of duty to help a young man in need, and they should be blessed and appreciated for their commendable efforts. If this story made you smile, do your friends and family a favor and pass it their way!
