Bulldog Saved From Meat Market Is So Happy With Life That His Tongue Constantly Hangs Out

Feb 21, 2019 by apost team

Rudy, the bulldog, was on his way to becoming someone’s meal at a local meat market. While some cultures treat dogs as their best friends, others think dogs are delicious and eat them routinely. Rudy was a cute puppy who lived in Harbin, China that was raised, along with other puppies, for meat. He and other dogs were loaded into a truck headed for a local slaughterhouse.

Thankfully, a local dog rescue charity, named Slaughterhouse Survivors, found the truck and stopped it only five minutes before it reached its destination. Once rescued, Rudy ended up in California, where Kelli O’Neil and Scott Eric Olivier adopted him.

So when Rudy is happy, his tongue hangs out. Every time he hears his squeaky toys, this goofy looking dog’s tongue falls out of his mouth in joy.

Rudy’s tongue is quite long, and also makes a giant-sized mess when he drinks and eats. His owners think the mess is worth the clean-up time involved in having him around. Because Rudy looked different and was raised in a puppy mill, he wasn’t socialized when he was a pup, making it hard for him to get along with other dogs.

He loves his humans, however, according to Kelli. From what history they can get, Kelli and Scott believe that poor Rudy was sent to the slaughterhouse from the breeding location where he was born because he was too homely to sell.

Now Rudy remains a local celebrity because the folks in his neighborhood think he and his floppy tongue are adorable. People even stop to take his picture and hold up traffic for a quick glimpse of the rescued doggie.
