GCHG Diamond Gold Majesu Pisko Bulls, better known as 'Thor', was awarded the 'Best in Show' title at the 2019 National Dog Show. The sweet 2-year-old pup won the award after beating more than 2,000 other canines from across the country.

Thor was first awarded the 'Non-Sporting Group' prize. The Bulldog won this title after competing against 19 other breeds. The other breeds included a Shiba Inu and a Chinese Shar-Pei. This followed with Thor claiming the coveted title of 'Best in Show' competing against six other group winners. When the show first began, contestants were representing more than 193 breeds.

Eduardo Paris, Thor's handler, told NBC, "I love this dog." He continued by saying, "He's a great dog–his moves are like a dream." He added, "He's a very complete dog." Paris led Thor through the final competition where he faced a Havanese, a Wheaten Terrier, an Old English Sheepdog, a Pharaoh Hound, a Golden Retriever, and a Siberian Husky as detailed here in USA Today.

One new breed was introduced during the show–an Azawakh–which is bred in Africa and is taller than its length. Equally as notable was Aliya Taylor the woman who showed him, who wore a hijab and was the only person to do so.

The National Dog Show, sponsored by the Kennel Club of Philadelphia, followed the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and was telecast by NBC, as it has done for the past 18 years. Each year more than 20 million people tune in to the program to watch their favorite breed of dog compete against the other hundreds competing for the grand prize.

Thor probably received a little extra something for Thanksgiving. Imagine what he will get for Christmas! His winning is a grand story. Hopefully, everyone will be able to learn about the contest and how Thor won the overall award.
