Buckingham Palace Sent A Little Girl's Missing Stuffed Animal Home To Australia

Five-year-old Savannah Hart and her family took a huge trip over the summer. The Australians traveled to England for some sightseeing. While there, they stopped at Buckingham Palace, where Queen Elizabeth herself lives.

The trip, however, wasn't perfect. Savannah's school had allowed her to take home Harriet, a stuffed toy monkey. Savannah toted Harriet with her everywhere. At Buckingham Palace, however, the two became separated. Savannah's parents had been snapping photos with Harriet on the palace grounds but lost track of her.

The Hart family searched all over for the "class pet" but had no luck. They returned to Australia believing that Harriet was lost for good reports People.

Staff at Woodside Preschool wrote a letter to Queen Elizabeth describing the situation. In the letter, they asked if someone could possibly look for and find the monkey. They wanted poor Harriet returned home to Australia where she belongs.

The staff at Buckingham Palace sprang into action. They left no stone unturned in their quest to find Harriet. They were able to find her and set to work right away on getting her back home.

Since the trip back to Australia is a long one -- around 9,000 miles -- they added a friend. Along with Harriet, they sent Rex, an adorable stuffed corgi. Who knows what adventures Savannah, Harriet, and Rex might get into next.
