"Brothers Moving" Band Doesn't Need Microphones To Perform

Sep 25, 2018 by apost team

Brothers Moving established their band in New York City in 2008 so they've been around a long time and are still going strong. They are a group of brothers, as suggested, with Esben on lead vocals, guitar and kazoo and Aske as the lead guitarist and vocalist. Simon Knoblauch and Nils Sorensen are also members of the band.

You can tell by the way they perform that the genres they are influenced by include blues, soul, rock, folk and funk. Put those influences all together along with their energy on stage and that is what makes it so exciting for people to watch them.

What they have done that is also really interesting is take on the task of busking. It's how they upstarted their career, playing around public spots in New York City. Then, they got famous when a video of them playing Cab Calloway's "Minnie the Moocher" went viral.

That video was taken in Union Square, and by 2016, the band was headlining in Moscow. During that year, they performed at lots of festivals in Europe, and have since been called one of the most influential street bands during recent times. They have recorded two albums of late, one released in 2012 and then another in 2018. The band is always on the move, also like their name says. (They definitely aptly titled themselves.) These days, they continue to perform live but now it's around the world.

What makes them different is that they don't need any special effects or microphones. They, as you'll be able to tell from these videos, can get anyone to start dancing.
