Brother Takes Younger Sister To 'Father-Daughter' Dance After Their Father Fails To Show Up For Second Time
A father stood up his seven-year-old daughter named Skylar for a father-daughter dance for the second time. Fortunately, her 11-year-old brother Christian stepped in and took her to this most important event. He might not have been her father, but he clearly showed his love for her and did everything he could to make her feel special.
A Dad Breaks Daughter’s Heart – Again
Skylar is like most seven-year-old girls. She loves her family and enjoys having a good time with them. When her father stood her up before the father-daughter dance for the second time, she was truly heartbroken.
A Mom’s Heart Is Broken
Trelysia Hamerter, Skylar’s mother, felt even more intense sadness over this situation because she couldn’t do much to help her daughter. The dance wouldn’t admit a mother instead of her father. This single mother didn’t have a man she could call to stand in for dad, or so she thought.
A Big Brother Rises To The Occasion
Christian, Skylar’s 11-year-old brother, was angered and spurred to action by this dire situation. He immediately decided that he was the man who would take his sister to the dance. According to mom, Christian said he wanted his sister to know she “… deserves a man keeping his word and making her feel special.”
A Family Loves Life And Each Other
Skylar couldn’t have been happier as she donned her gold dress and matching purse. Christian, clothed in a navy suit with coordinating gold bow tie, beamed with joy as he looked forward to becoming his sister’s hero. Mom was perhaps the proudest of all, gushing on social media that, “…I’m raising someone a GREAT HUSBAND one day.”
