As the debate on whether or not taxpayers should foot Meghan and Harry’s security bill continues, a new poll shows that an overwhelming majority of Brits are not happy with picking up the tab.
Good Morning Britain conducted a poll via Twitter over the weekend which showed that a whopping 90% of participants are not happy with their taxes funding the Sussexes’ security.
This weekend, Good Morning Britain conducted a poll via Twitter asking their followers if British taxpayers should foot the bill for Meghan, Harry and Archie’s security.
The poll saw 14,685 followers respond, of which 90.6% voted "no" and a mere 9.4% voting "yes".

Many Twitter users took to the comments to further discuss the poll.
“If they want to go their own way including financial independence then that includes paying their own way including protection so that will be a NO from me,” one user wrote.
Others, however, were more sympathetic towards the Sussexes.
“Trouble is... Everyone would be devastated if they were harmed in any way due to lack of protection &I’d hate it!
"So yes - I wouldn’t mind contributing via tax at all: I like our Royals and I know Harry and Meghan made their decision to leave but he is still Prince Harry,” wrote another.

Last week, Public Safety Minister for Canada Bill Blair said in a statement that the North American country will no longer cover the Sussexes’ security costs after they officially cease their Royal duties in April 2020.
"The Duke and Duchess of Sussex choosing to relocate to Canada on a part-time basis presented our government with a unique and unprecedented set of circumstances. The RCMP has been engaged with officials in the U.K. from the very beginning regarding security considerations,” Blair told CBC news.
"As the Duke and Duchess are currently recognized as Internationally Protected Persons, Canada has an obligation to provide security assistance on an as-needed basis. At the request of the Metropolitan Police, the RCMP has been providing assistance to the Met since the arrival of the Duke and Duchess to Canada intermittently since November 2019. The assistance will cease in the coming weeks, in keeping with their change in status."
