Julie Andrews is one of the world's favorite actresses. Born in 1935, Andrews started entertaining at a very young age. By 1948 at the age of 13-years-old, she was working as a child actor, and by 1954 she was starring on broadway. Stealing the show at her young age, Britain named Andrews "Britain's youngest prima donna." Starring in "My Fair Lady," "Camelot," and "Cinderella," these roles led Andrews to star in a role people still love today—" Mary Poppins."

After "Mary Poppins," the doors would open even more for the "prima donna," of Britain. The role ended up landing her an Academy Award for Best Actress. The following year in 1965, Andrews would go on to star in "The Sound of Music," which most people still recognize and remember today.

Starting her career from such an early age, Andrews is one of the most well-known women of her time. She has been a trailblazer for not only British women in acting but women all over the world. From acting to singing to voice acting, her presence in Hollywood and internationally is something that has been acknowledged by the industry's top institutions. In 2011 Andrews received a "Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award," which she would add to her long list of accomplishments.

Still, even now, in her old age, she is busier than ever. In recent years Andrews has launched a podcast, voiced Netflix's "Bridgerton" and has written her second book "Home Work: A Memoir of My Hollywood Years." Working in the entertainment industry for over 70 years, the legendary woman has had an extremely successful career. It would be fair to call her a queen among the acting world.

While Andrews may not be a queen in real life, she has played one in a handful of movies, including her notable role as Queen Clarisse Renaldi in "The Princess Diaries" and "The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement." The first film was released in 2001, with its sequel coming out shortly after in 2003. Since then, fans have been yearning for a follow-up film, and it seems like Andrews has been, too.

In April 2020, Elle reported that Andrews had "heard that there might be" a third movie in the works. "It's long been talked about but nothing sort of been on my desk or anything like that," Andrews said. "I think I would (do it)." She also said it would be "lovely" to work with Anne Hathaway again, who played her on-screen granddaughter.

Andrews' role in "The Princess Diaries" series is just one of many that have earned her such acclaimed fame. Starring as the lead in a plethora of other films has really helped pave the way for a successful career trajectory for Andrews.

One of the star's most recent projects was voicing the narrator Lady Whistledown in the Netflix period drama series "Bridgerton," which aired in December 2020. This is not the first time Andrews has lent her voice to a series of films, as she was a voice actor for the "Shrek" and "Despicable Me" movies as well. Andrews has also earned many awards over the years, including an Academy Award, two Grammy Awards and seven Golden Globe Awards.

With an extremely busy and packed career, Andrews has said her career has been more than she could have ever imagined. She told Backstage in 2019, "I think the things that happened were mostly beyond my wildest dreams. Who could have imagined that life would have taken such marvelous twists and turns or that I would often be so fortunate to be in the right place at the right time?"

With her long-standing career and many accomplishments and accolades, she is now looking to support the next generation of entertainers. Her words of wisdom include being open to opportunities.

"Hopefully, there will be phenomenal opportunities crossing under young actors' noses as the years go by," she said

"You really have to be passionate about what you're doing, and you better be ready and do your homework. You never stop doing that. You never know when you will stumble across those wonderful moments of opportunity like I was so fortunate to do," she added.

The star added that one is never quite ready, yet someone has to embrace opportunities and jump in with both feet.

She opened up and said, "I'm never sure one is exactly ready. You jump in, with both feet, into a very big fish pond. But I think the early years were all about beginning to learn some disciplines."

With such an esteemed career, it's no surprise that Andrews has become one of the most recognized and loved stars of all time. On top of that, she has also earned herself quite an impressive reputation and net worth. According to Celebrity Net Worth, Andrews has an estimated net worth of $30 million from all of her years as an actress, singer and all-around performer, as well as her other career ventures.
