Once Colin was finished with the song which was first written in 1939, he received a standing ovation and numerous praises from people who viewed the performance.

Amanda Holden agreed with Alisha and commended Colin and his generation for being the 'backbone' of Britain.

David Walliams said it would not surprise him to see Colin become the last man standing at the end of the season.

The performance sealed Colin's ticket to the finals where he will go head to head with Kojo Amin who won against Jon Archer in the other semi-final. When asked how he felt about being in the final, Colin said it is all just beginning to sink in.

Colin now resides at the Royal Hospital in London and is a veteran of the Korean War. He met his wife Joan at a dance camp and asked for her hand in marriage in 1950. The two were sadly parted by death in 2016.
