Bright Yellow Bullfrogs Emerge From Ground After Rainstorm

In Narsighpur, India, an unusual group of yellow Indian Bullfrogs was spotted after a rainstorm during a monsoon back in July. Although these frogs are native to the area, their bright yellow color even surprised the village locals let alone the rest of the world on the internet.

The video of the frogs emerging after the monsoon was posted by Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer Parveen Kaswan on Twitter. According to Kaswan, the frogs are male frogs that have changed their color to a vivid yellow in order to attract female mates.

Shocking Site

While these yellow frogs are known in the village, the people who lived there were not used to seeing so many of these yellow frogs at one time. The cause of the yellow frogs resurfacing was a long rainstorm that covered the entire Narsighpur area.

Although many people may think due to their bright color that these frogs are poisonous, the Indian (or Asian) Bullfrog is not poisonous at all

This video was likely so compelling because of the large group of yellow frogs seen in one place at one time. Other than their mating season which coincides with monsoon season, these frogs are usually green rather than such a bright yellow color.

It's always fun to see these unusual videos of large groups of animals. It reminds us that the world is more diverse and unexpected that we thought. What do you think of these frogs changing their color to attract mates? Let us know your thoughts and be sure to pass this on to other animal lovers!
