Bridget Fonda was the perfect idol during the peak of her career in the 80s and early 90s. She became the ideal representation of a woman during those times. When we think of fashion during the 80s and 90s, Bridget Fonda usually comes to mind with her bobbed haircut and quirky clothing. Although she gained much fame during these times, she suddenly disappeared from the world of entertainment, and the public has not heard much about her since.

Bridget Fonda was born in Los Angeles in the year of 1964 to a family of actors. Her family was well known for their talent at the time. Her father was Peter Fonda and her aunt was the well-known Jane Fonda. Her mother, Susan Brewer, was one of the few members of the family who did not pursue a career in acting. Susan was born with an innate sense of creativity, later impacting her decision to become an artist.

Although Bridget's family were very successful in their endeavors, her parents divorced during her childhood. As a result, Bridget had very little contact with the rest of her family and grew up with just her mother. In 1992, she told the New York Times that throughout her childhood she felt disconnected from her father and began to resent him; however, as she grew older and finally met him, she was astonished at the similarities between them.

Her love for acting was realized during high school when she landed a role in the play Harvey. While she was phenomenal in her performance at school, this was not her first rodeo. Her earliest debut was alongside her father in a 1969 film called Easy Rider. At the mere age of 5, Bridget did not have much dialogue perform, yet her presence in the film was memorable. Another memorable role was in the comedy film Partners. In this 1982 film, Bridget was given a non-speaking role, yet she played it perfectly.

Bridget graduated from the acting program of the New York University Tisch School of the Arts in 1986. She landed her first major role a few years after graduating from acting school. She was nominated for a Golden Globe Award due to her major role in the film Scandal where she played Mandy Rice-Davies. After this, she appeared in a variety of other films, including The Godfather Part III. She was soon dubbed the "It" girl of Hollywood.

Due to Bridget's successful family, plenty of people have always had high expectations for her; however, in 2001 she told Cinema.com that she has never felt pressured to succeed, as everyone has to climb the same ladder to success, although some ladders may have more obstacles than others. In her climb to success, Bridget was never afraid of failing. In fact, she stated that failing does not matter because, in the end, you will learn from your mistakes and move on.

Bridget continued to appear in small films throughout the late 90s and early 2000s, however, her appearance was largely unnoticed. It seemed as though America had completely forgotten about their favorite actress. While some celebrities may despair over being forgotten, Bridget said she was enthusiastic about it. She was happy to finally walk the streets of New York without anyone recognizing her, she told the New York Times.

Bridget's anonymity lasted until the year 2001 when she appeared as a lingerie model for H&M. People began to remember where they last saw her and she steadily rose to fame again.

During her career, Bridget received plenty of offers to appear in television shows and small films; however, she turned down a majority of them. One of her most notable offers was the lead role in the series Ally McBeal. When she refused, the role was given to Calista Flockhart and the show was an instant success. Calista gained much fame from the show, though it would have been interesting to see Bridget in the role as well. Bridget's final role was in 2002 when she appeared in the movie Snow Queen.
