Bride Wants Nephew-To-Be To Chop Off His Long Locks To Fit In With Wedding Party

Weddings are never easy, but they are especially difficult when the bride becomes extremely uncompromising. The term “Bridezilla” was created to refer to brides whose attitudes are extreme and intolerably demanding. There has even been a reality show made called “Bridezillas” that is all about obsessive brides behaving badly.

The internet is filled with stories of bridezillas who have demanded ridiculous things from their friends and family members, and it is fodder for the internet to debate over. While some stories do lead to a debate about certain issues, such as how many presents are enough for a bride, other stories bring all internet users together for a unanimous judgment.

One recent story had people chiming in about a bride's uncompromising request; she wanted her nephew-to-be's long hair cut short. According to the story that a woman uploaded onto Reddit, she explained that her son has long hair and that her brother's fiancee expected that he would cut it all off to be part of her wedding. However, the problem was that the issue had already been discussed earlier, and the to-be-bride as well as the respective families had not pushed their intention so fiercely.

When the woman refused to cut off her son's hair and told the bride that her son would no longer be part of the wedding party and take a seat instead as a guest, she was told that it was unfair and that she is not letting the bride have the day she deserves. When the unnamed woman turned to Reddit for different perspectives, she was told what she had been suspecting all along.

In her Reddit post, the woman wrote, "My 15-year old son was asked in January to be the ‘flower dude’ in my brother’s wedding (which will be end of this month). Since then, my STBSIL has made frequent comments to my son along the lines of “so what are we going to do about this hair?” (He has thick, curly hair that he’s been growing out for a little while now; he’s got a goal photo we’ve been showing to his hairdresser)."

"A couple weeks ago I texted my brother to let him know that we will groom and style his hair, and use product to tame it - but I was not going to make him cut his hair. At that time, my brother said that was fine," the woman continued, telling readers that the brother and his fiance agreed that her son would even do a trial run at a salon to see how his hair would look.

However, as the date came closer, the bride, as well as the woman's mother and stepfather, became more vocal about wanting the young man's hair chopped off, and "claimed we should have known that was the rule from the beginning." This led to a major fallout and drama amongst family members and led to the woman wondering if she was being unreasonable by refusing their demands.

However, most people who read the story of Reddit believed that the woman had done the right thing. One person commented, "Bridezilla needs to get over herself. I wouldn't go to the wedding either. This is a very ridiculous situation. If I had a nephew I loved I'd want him in my wedding regardless of what he looked like. Poor kid. Tell him his hair is awesome."
