Bride Performs Beautiful Song As She Walks Up Aisle To Groom

A bride from Kentucky surprised her future husband with a stunning rendition of a romantic song as she walked up the aisle to him at their wedding. Allison Dyer and Jason Thurman, Jr. were married on Oct. 14, 2017 during an incredibly special ceremony, with the former changing her name to Allison Thurman following the ceremony. A video showcasing the once-in-a-lifetime performance from the blushing bride was uploaded online the following day.

Weddings are beautiful and momentous occasions that both brides and grooms want to be special and memorable. There is a lot of planning that goes into creating such a stunning ceremony and reception. From flower arrangements to delicious food and guest list, there is a long litany of things that the happy couple has to take into consideration. Some include prayer, poetry or music — or even all of the above. Marriage vows are something sweet many guests and members of the wedding party will remember, as well as the more fun aspects, like decoration and the music playlist.

For some couples, the choice of song for the first dance at the reception is something that is cherished for the lifetime of their relationship. The tradition was a bit different for this couple in Kentucky when the bride decided to perform her own version of a classic love song. As she walked up the aisle to stand beside her future husband, Allison performed a beautiful rendition of “Can’t Help Falling in Love” by Elvis Presley, receiving plenty of love and admiration from the entire wedding party.

Allison and Jason’s wedding was set in a barn in Kentucky, with fairy lights hanging from the structural posts. It was a full house with rows and rows of guests. The bride’s wedding party wore pretty, knee-length red dresses, while the groom’s party wore yellow vests adorned with red flowers.

Allison decided to use her musical talents at her wedding and showcase her stunning vocals as she sang “Can’t Help Falling in Love” to her then-fiance. According to Little Things, the couple had been together since high school, sharing sweet moments and plenty of romantic adventures along the way. A video of Allison singing to her partner was recorded and uploaded by the groom’s aunt, Taron Staggs Stone, just a day after the wedding.

During the video, it’s evident that Jason had no idea what his future wife had planned for their special day, as well as many of the wedding guests in attendance. Allison had a history of singing though, showcasing her talents as early as 2 years old while at church. She also sang in her high school choir for three years, according to Little Things. Allison continues to perform at church today.

The performance was simple and started with delicate piano chords playing as Allison began to sing. Her tone was sweet with a stable vibrato following some of the lyrics of the song. Jason was completely caught off-guard, instantly being overwhelmed with emotions. Other family members and guests began crying as the song continued to play. Allison walked up the aisle to Jason wearing a detailed white dress that showed off all her beauty; all the while she continued singing “Can’t Help Falling in Love.”

The sound of her soft voice ricocheted throughout the barn as she hit each and every note. She continued to sing even as she was met face to face with Jason, standing under a beautiful arch decorated with twinkling lights. It was as if Allison was reciting her vows through the lyrics of the song.

There definitely wasn’t a dry eye in the house, as her performance concluded. Allison’s special arrangement had stayed a secret up until she grabbed ahold of the microphone. “It was a total surprise to him,” she told Little Things about her husband’s response. Allison went on to explain why she decided to sing the song during her wedding and what it meant to her relationship.

“Singing has always been a big strength of mine, and I can express my emotions vividly when I sing, as opposed to when I’m talking,” she said. “I knew that singing down the aisle would be something different I could incorporate in my wedding that most people would like.”

While it was something that all their wedding-goers will remember, Allison specifically chose the song to showcase her unconditional love for Jason. “But the main reason I did it is because I wanted to show everyone, especially my husband, how much love I truly have for him, even though nothing could ever fully tell that,” she said.

It was a stunning start to a marriage and a lifetime of happiness. Allison’s performance of “Can’t Help Falling in Love” was something special that Jason will surely keep in his heart.
