One of the special moments in many weddings is when a father walks his daughter down the aisle. Unfortunately, some brides don't have that moment because their fathers are no longer with them. One bride, however, decided to she didn't want to make that walk alone.

Charlotte Walton is the bride. Her father lost his battle with cancer before he could walk her down the aisle. This was heartbreaking for Charlotte who always wanted her father at her wedding. When the 26-year-old married 33-year-old Nick in August, she was still heartbroken over losing her dad.

That's when her cousin, Kirsty, came up with a brilliant idea. Kirsty is a nail artist who had the idea of painting a few of her father's ashes on to the bride's nails. That way, a part of him could be with her throughout the special day.

Charlotte loved the idea. She said, "I thought her idea was amazing." She admits to being a daddy's girl. Her dad would grumble about doing things, but always give in to please his little girl.

She commented to The Mirror, "Having the ashes attached to my nails felt like he was holding my hand, I knew it wasn't the same as him really being there, but it was as close as we could get.

It's a unique way to honor her father and to have a bit of him with her as she walked down the aisle. After the wedding, she kept the nails and framed them with decorative crystals. It allows her to keep the special memory alive. He's always there in spirit.

Her father, Mick, received the cancer diagnosis after Charlotte and Nick got engaged. When they found out the cancer wasn't curable, they decided to move the wedding arrangements ahead to give Mick the chance to attend. However, they didn't make it on time. Mick passed away before he could walk his daughter down the aisle.

Mick was definitely a fan of her now-husband, Nick. "My dad loved Nick, they played golf together most weekends and he had my dad's blessing from day one." When they lost Mick, Charlotte didn't know how she could make sure he was with her as she said her vows. That's when her cousin Kirsty came to the rescue with a brilliant idea.
