Bride Cuts Dress Apart After Wedding To Show The 17 Pieces It Transforms Into
Dec 20, 2018 by apost team
After the wedding ceremony is over and the honeymoon is a memory, many new brides are left with a beautiful, expensive dress that they will no longer wear. Some women often choose to have them professionally cleaned and then stored carefully in the hopes that their daughter will want to wear it one day.
But there are some brides who decide to take another avenue when it comes to their garment. Many donate it to organizations who will then resell it for a fraction of what they paid for it to others who may need a price break. Others may modify it into a cute cocktail dress in order to wear it later.
Justi Boroff is the bride in this story. She loved her wedding dress and didn’t want to just hang it up to get old and musty. Justi decided that she was going to cut it up. However, it was definitely for a great cause!

While a wedding gown is usually seen as a symbol of love and unity, Justi was perfectly content to send it to Sandi Fasano, a grandmother in Colorado, who then cut it up into pieces.
Justi wanted the dress to be cut up and made into “angel gowns.” Angel gowns are small dresses for babies who pass away in the hospital. She then planned to provide them to grieving parents at her local Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
Sandi admitted that she had never had to cut up a wedding dress before. However, she knew that she was making something magical that may ease the hearts of grief-stricken mothers and fathers just a little bit. She was able to make 17 gowns out of the material.
Sandi found out that many parents of deceased babies have to go to toy stores to find doll clothes to bury their babies in. That is when she decided to make funeral gowns for those in need. Her business was born.
She said she is surprised but happy that so many women have chosen to donate their wedding dresses. Many are from women who have lost their own baby and understand the pain. Some just donate because they want their dresses to be used for something important.
