Brain May from Queen performed in Sydney as a part of a concert to benefit Australian bushfire relief. Beforehand, the 72-year-old guitarist bonded with a koala named Bear.

Guitarist Brian May from Queen shared a video of him playing guitar with a koala on his shoulder on Instagram. The video took place before May performed at a concert in Sydney that benefitted Australian bushfire relief.

The pair received lots of attention as May strummed his electric guitar and the koala, named Bear, stayed cuddled on May's shoulder.

Queen performed with singer Adam Lambert on Sunday at the Fire Fight Australia relief concert. It was held at ANZ Stadium in Sydney and included other performers such as 5 Seconds of Summer, Alice Cooper, and Olivia Newton-John.

The video May posted was to promote the cause of the concert by featuring the fuzzy friends that the fires affect.

After his performance, May referred back to his iconic Queen showcase with the now late Freddie Mercury back in 1985. He wrote on Instagram: “I don’t think I’ve felt quite like that since Live Aid.”

May is not new to promoting the cause of helping animals. He has previously opened up about his efforts, but back then it was rehabilitating hedgehogs. Brian had previously spoken in a documentary about the Amazing Grace rescue center on his estate in Surrey England:

“It does feel great. The actual hands-on thing of saving animals is so rewarding and so inspiring. It’s brought me all kinds of wonderful joys that I never even dreamed of. To see these animals come in hurt, poisoned, dehydrated and see them taken care of and then let out for another chance in the wild—to me it’s one of the greatest joys that’s ever come into my life.”
