There are musicians who purely put on a show and those who are really known for their incredible vocal abilities. The reason Lady Gaga and Adele are so popular and successful is because they both come from a place of immense vocal talent and that is what makes their music entertaining, not because they use flashy gimmicks or help from autotune.

In this unexpected but delightful mashup of two of their songs –– Lady Gaga's Million Reasons and Adele's Someone Like You –– their skills as singers are on full display, both individually and together.

In the mashup video, Lady Gaga begins singing first, with the words of Million Reasons coming in. As the pensive music and lyrics build momentum, we see a montage of shots of her singing live on stage in an intimate show, playing guitar while wearing a suit and cowboy hat, and sitting backstage.

The second single off her country-influenced album Joanne, Million Reasons is a thoughtful musing about love, in which Gaga sings: "I've got a hundred million reasons to walk away / But baby, I just need one good one to stay."

Coming in about a quarter of the way into the song, Adele's epic hit Someone Like You –– another ballad about love –– begins to mesh with Gaga's lyrics. She sings those famous soul-crushing words: "Never mind, I'll find someone like you / I wish nothing but the best for you, too."

Once Adele's part has shined following Gaga's, the song flips back to Million Reasons, and somewhat surprisingly, the flow between the two beautiful songs is seamless. It's as if the two women wrote the songs with the intention of merging them at one point –– that's obviously not the case, but they fit so perfectly together you would almost think it.

The song continues as a balanced mashup between Million Reasons and Someone Like You, as footage showing Lady Gaga and Adele singing separately are also mashed up.

Because both songs peak in a climax in their final part, the ending of both songs not only match wonderfully but they really build to a dramatic finale. Once those parts have peaked, Lady Gaga's soft closing words of Million Reasons finish up the mashup, as she sings: "Baby I just need one good one to stay." The song ends on a somber note, but one that perfectly sums up the emotions behind both of these songs individually and together.

While this mashup wasn't conceived by the artists themselves, it would be incredible to witness them singing these songs together live in concert. Imagine how electric the energy would be to hear this mashup live?
