Most of the time, school principals have a reputation for being strict with their students as they do their best in order to maintain peace and order in a certain campus that they’re assigned to work at.

However, there are also administrators who have a funny bone in their body and will sometimes shock students with their hidden talents that they rarely showcase publicly.

According to a Chicago-based blog called The Block Club, Tyson Kane, who was the founding principal of the Chicago Bulls College Prep and the head of 17 Noble Network charter schools in 2016, went viral that year as he surprised students with his dancing skills.

The principal was at the Rowe-Clark Math & Science Academy in West Humboldt Park at the time, and the video from 2016 was filmed in what appeared to be a basketball court inside the campus.

A song titled “I’m So MinT” by Legend Da Beatslaya started to play in the background, and to the students’ surprise, Kane started busting out his smooth dance moves, which the audience didn’t expect at all based on their reactions.

The principal continued dancing as the crowd cheered, and there was even one moment where he seemingly danced the moonwalk popularized by Michael Jackson.

Toward the end of the clip, which went viral on Facebook according to The Block Club, Kane could be seen breakdancing and even attempting to do a headstand.

Regarding his reaction to the video, Kane told the blog: "We teach our kids a lot to go do the things you love… No fear, no embarrassment."

He later revealed that he never got the chance to watch himself dance in a video, and he only learned that a clip of him made rounds online when some of the students notified him about it through email.

Kane also noted that it wasn’t the first time he danced in front of students, as he had already done it in the past as a principal.

The creator of the song, Beatslaya, reposted the video on his YouTube channel, and he gave the principal a big shout-out.

In the comment section, Kane received praise from other people for the way he danced, as it was something that brought people together.

“Love this guy and the students' responses. Dance brings us together ❣️🌍🕊️🌎,” one wrote.

One user noted that they got inspired after they watched the video as they explained, “I got to say this guy inspires me and the story inspires me and makes me believe we still have a chance as long as we have guys like this out there as examples!”

Another one claimed that they were a student where Kane was a principal and revealed that he was indeed a nice person. “This guy was my principal for a year before I transferred and I must say one thing I liked about him was that he would stand outside everyday no matter the weather and greet every student by first name like how he remembered all our names tbh 😂💯” they wrote.

One commented that they became emotional in a happy way after they watched the video as they wrote, “It's educator's like this that bring hope to my heart, and tears of joy to my eyes.”
