It seems that we hear about a "miracle" every day, but this story appears to be the real thing. One teen was declared to be "brain dead," and she was going to be taken off of life support. That's when God stepped in and saved the day. You are going to love how this story turns out!

On September 17, 2011, Taylor Hale's family went to her hospital bed to bid her farewell. Before they arrived, they were in the process of making funeral arrangements.

Taylor Hale was just like any other 14-year-old girl with hopes and dreams for what the future would bring. Then, she was the unfortunate victim of an accident.

The Accident

On September 11, Taylor was doing what all the other teenage girls were doing, but at the end, her parents were in the unenviable position of having to say their last words to their daughter.

On that day, Waukee High School played its first football game, and Taylor had gone to her friend's house to celebrate. After some time went by, one boy decided to leave, but Taylor and another friend wanted him to stay.

The girls decided to jump on top of the boy's car so that he couldn't drive away. He didn't seem to care because he backed his car out of the driveway anyway with the girls on top! One girl slid off of the vehicle, but she wasn't hurt. Taylor, on the other hand, remained on the car for several seconds before she slid off too.

When she finally hit the ground, she wasn't waking up even as her friends were calling her name. The situation appeared to be pretty serious, so someone called an ambulance. Another friend called Stacy Henningsen, Taylor's mother.

The friend told Taylor's mother that Taylor had been in an accident and that an ambulance was coming to the scene.

An Unhappy Reality

At the hospital, Taylor's doctors discovered that she had experienced a severe brain injury.

The medical team forced her into a coma so that her brain would have a chance to heal. This treatment didn't have the result that everyone hoped it would have because Taylor couldn't wake up and talk to them. She remained in that state for a week, and things got even worse. On September 17, Taylor suffered a brain hemorrhage.

When she arrived at the hospital, the doctors gave her a dismal prognosis, but it got even worse when a portion of her brain sank back into her spinal canal even though everyone around her was trying desperately to save her life.

At this point, the energetic teenager they all knew was at the end of her life. Taylor's doctors informed her family that there wasn't anything that they could do for Taylor. She would remain in a coma until she died.

The doctors also told her parents that Taylor's brain was "mush" now and that the best thing to do would be to take her off of life support. They advised them to begin making funeral arrangements for Taylor, and they asked if they would consider donating Taylor's organs.

Dr. Jeff Stickel was a friend of the Hale family, and he said that he felt that he had been called to visit Taylor in the hospital. Dr. Stickel was a chiropractor, and he thought that God wanted him to help heal Taylor.

Taylor's mother and father didn't say anything at first because they didn't want to think that there was hope when there really wasn't any.

Taylor's father asked Dr. Stickel if he had ever had an unconscious patient before, and Dr. Stickel said that he never had. After hearing that, Chuck, Taylor's father, didn't give Dr. Stickel permission to treat Taylor.

Dr. Stickel runs his own chiropractic office, but he understood Chuck's reluctance to allow him to treat Taylor. Instead, he asked if they could all pray for Taylor, and they agreed. Dr. Stickel placed his hands on Taylor's neck, and they all prayed and asked God to heal her. They thanked Dr. Stickel for the prayer, and he left.

A Miracle Occurs!

Later that same day, the doctors arrived to remove Taylor from the life support that had been keeping her alive, and they couldn't believe what they were seeing. Taylor was making every effort to breathe on her own!

The shocked doctors frantically started to reconnect the life support. As time went on, Taylor began to show even more signs of improvement. She finally woke up from her coma once and for all.

Chuck gave all of the credit to God. He said that God made a miracle happen.

Taylor's family felt invigorated because instead of planning a funeral, they were helping their daughter through rehab. It was a tough road for Taylor because she had to learn to do everything again, including walking, talking, chewing and swallowing. Slowly, Taylor went from a wheelchair to a walker, and now, she can finally walk without any help.

Stacy often remembers that scary time, and she thinks that what is going on now is a miracle too.

If you are as happy for Taylor as we are, spread the word so that your friends can enjoy this story too.
