Bradley Charles Cooper was born on January 5th, 1975. The Capricorn baby is of Irish and Italian ancestry and he has one older sister named Holly. His late father, Charlie Cooper, was a Merrill Lynch stockbroker while his mother, Gloria Campano Cooper worked with the local NBC affiliate in Pennsylvania. He was raised Catholic, and has mentioned that he’s “Catholic in [his] bones.”

Cooper grew up with one sister outside Philadelphia, the son of a stockbroker father and a homemaker mother. He was Italian through the latter, Irish through the former, and Catholic through both. "I'm Catholic in my bones," he has said and still prays daily.

Cooper has been married once. He was married to actress Jennifer Esposito from 2006 to 2007. The couple had become engaged just a few months after they were spotted together, according to PEOPLE. Their wedding ceremony took place in the South of France and it was described as a low-key affair. Their relationship reportedly turned sour just four months after they said their vows when Esposito filed for divorce citing irreconcilable differences.

The actor skyrocketed to fame almost overnight with the success of The Hangover (2009), which he made $600,000 from, and then a cool $5 million for the sequel in 2011, according to Hello! Magazine.

Besides his good looks and acting skills, Cooper is known to be very well-liked by his peers in the industry, which has given him plenty of work opportunities. According to The Hollywood Reporter, his childhood friend Brian Klugman says that “there's nobody who's better liked.” He was also the co-director for The Words, a 2012 mystery romantic drama film that Cooper starred in.

He is so well-liked that fellow actor Robert De Niro has invited him to stay over at his house numerous times, and even David O. Russell, a notoriously demanding director, has expressed eagerness to work with Cooper over and over again.

It’s hard to believe that Cooper is five years away from being 50 years old. Looking at his photo from his youth, you’d never think he’s aged even one day. But the truth is, the now father-of-one has never been known as the good looking kid. In 2012, he talked about how people used to think he was a girl:

“I never lived the life of ‘Oh, you're so good-looking.’ People thought I was a girl when I was little because I looked like a girl—maybe because my mother would keep my hair really long in a bowl cut. I was in a coffee shop once and the waitress was like, ‘What do you want, Miss?’ I was 10 or 11—the worst age to have that happen. I had a jean jacket on and a Metallica pin. I thought I was really cool.”
