After a brutal eight-year legal battle, Brad Pitt has publicly addressed the finalization of his divorce from Angelina Jolie, a process which had several of their children dropping his last name and keeping hers. The “Fight Club” actor, 61, has not been seen with any one of his six children with the actress in years, leading fans to assume that he is estranged from his children amid the divorce.

Brad and Angelina first met in 2003 on the set of their movie “Mr. & Mrs. Smith.” Angelina was a single mother to her adopted children at the time, while Brad was married to “Friends” star Jennifer Aniston. They announced their relationship in 2005, and the following year, Angelina’s adopted kids’ names were changed from Jolie to Jolie-Pitt. The couple shares six children: Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and twins Knox and Vivienne. They were declared legally single in 2019, but the divorce settlement wasn’t finalized until December 2024.

Angelina filed for divorce after a heated argument on a plane in front of their children, with Angelina afterward claiming that Brad was abusive to her and their six children. Since the divorce, the pair have rarely spoken out about their divorce. Angelina’s lawyer shared in a statement that the actress was “focused on finding peace and healing for their family.”

“This is just one part of a long ongoing process that started eight years ago,” her lawyer shared in the statement. “Frankly, Angelina is exhausted, but she is relieved this one part is over.”

Finally, Brad has offered a glimpse into his perspective on the closure of one of Hollywood's most scrutinized relationships. While promoting his racing movie “F1,” released on June 27, 2025, the actor shed some light on his personal life and the publicity surrounding it. The film, in which he stars as a Formula One driver, marks another chapter in his illustrious career.

In an interview with his “F1” co-star Damson Idris, Brad opened up about his personal life being public for three decades and how he has grown used to it.

“It’s been in the news for 30 years, bro. Or some version of my personal life, let’s put it that way,” he said in the GQ interview.

In the same article, Brad broke his silence on his recently finalized divorce from Angelina. Asked whether he felt “relief” since the separation was made legally official, the actor responded:

“No, I don’t think it was that major of a thing,” Pitt said. “Just something coming to fruition. Legally.”

Although he hadn’t commented on the divorce finalization since the news broke, a source had revealed that the actor was “happy” to have it finalized.

“Brad Pitt is happy that the divorce is behind him,” the source said. “Things are low-key for the family.”

Without explicitly mentioning the divorce, Brad recently commented on the current state of his life. The actor is currently in a relationship with Ines de Ramon, with a source revealing that the two “are in a great place.” Being famous is not the best thing he has going, he revealed, saying:

“My life is fairly contained. It feels pretty warm and secure with my friends, with my loves, with my fam, with my knowledge of who I am, that, you know, it’s like this fly buzzing around a little bit.”
