Brad Pitt And Jimmy Fallon Show Off Their Moves With Fun "Breakdance Conversation" Sketch

Dancing is an art form and known for being very expressive. While something like ballet might first come to mind, breakdancing, which was created in New York in the 1970s, is also a very communicative dance style.
Jimmy Fallon took this idea and turned it into a comedy skit for "The Tonight Show." The sketch is titled "Breakdance Conversation" and also stars none other than Brad Pitt. In the hilarious video, the two of them battle it out and converse using nothing but their slick breakdancing moves.
Jimmy Fallon is known as much for his comedy skits as he is for his dance moves, so the "Breakdance Conversation" sketch is unsurprisingly a great one. It also helps that it co-stars Brad Pitt, who makes a great team with Jimmy.
The skit starts off with Jimmy working in a regular office. Exhausted and seemingly needing a break, he heads down to the building's basement –– complete with graffiti and a boom box. He turns the music on and begins to bust some breakdancing moves.

All is going well until he notices somebody else across the basement from him, also breakdancing. Soon enough he realizes that it's none other than Brad Pitt. The two grab each others' attention, and a breakdance battle, or conversation, depending on how you look at it, ensues.
The moves from both men –– no doubt helped by some professional breakdancers and sneaky camera cuts –– are very impressive. From spinning on their heads to flipping over, Brad and Jimmy do not disappoint. Soon enough, Brad asks Jimmy if he's willing to do a double breakdance, to which Jimmy replies "Hell yes."
The final tandem dance is hilarious, and even more so because it features both of them actually doing more of the moves themselves, though that's not to say the moves are particularly difficult! Give it a watch and see for yourself.
Breakdancing, or breaking as it is commonly known by those who practice it, was started by African American youth in early 1970s New York City. While it has a lot of visual elements similar to the Brazilian martial art capoeira –– which was developed by African slaves brought to Brazil in the early 16th century –– the connection between the two isn't 100% clear. Some theorize that breakdancing was inspired by capoeira, as it was introduced to New York around the same time in the '70s, but there is no hard evidence for this.
Both forms, however, are beautiful to watch as well as being physically demanding. They communicate a wide variety of influences from different parts of the world, and show the physical skills that humans can possess.
