Boy Who Was Known For Sneaking Hugs From Neighbor’s Pup Gets One Of His Own

Oct 30, 2019 by apost team

A little boy named Josh Breaux loved his neighbor's dog so much that he would sneak away from home to give it a hug.

The tender act of affection was caught on a surveillance camera by the boy's neighbor, Hollie Mallet. Mallet's black Labrador Retriever, Duchess, loved to greet her friend every day with a big hug and wagging tail.

Mallet, not knowing exactly who the boy was, posted a video to social media that has since garnered over 4 million views. In the footage, Josh is seen hopping off his bike and running into Mallet's garage to greet Duchess.

"Attn Neighbors! Anyone know who this sweet little boy is?" she wrote, "Every now and then when he rides his bike he will quickly come and love on my dog or play fetch real quick, but always leaves quick like he doesn't know if he should be here! I'd like to tell him he's welcome to stay and play, she loves the attention!"

According to the Daily Mail, Josh's mother eventually saw the post and responded with the following message:

"Josh talks about your dog all the time! Every time we pass he looks to see if she was sitting where he could see her. Just didn’t know he was doing things like this. Last night when I first saw it, I was torn as a momma being happy and upset because he knows he shouldn’t be on someone’s property, but I wake up this morning more happy that he just absolutely adores dogs so much."

The Breaux family lost their own dog a year before Josh started visiting Duchess. The entire family occasionally stop by to visit the Lab, but they also decided it was time to surprise Josh with a dog of his own.

Drake the puppy is a black Lab just like Duchess, and the family couldn't be happier about the new addition to their family. Josh, his mother, and sister still occasionally stop by and play with their pal, Duchess.
