Boy Takes Time Out Of His Daily Schedule To Visit Misunderstood Cat

If you own cats, you know just how loving and affectionate they can be when they trust the people that surround them on a daily basis. Although cats can have a bad reputation for being timid, shy, and even hostile towards humans and other animals, real cat owners know that all the animal needs to be happy and loving is a little kindness in return.
In this video from 2019, one neighborhood boy has shown the internet just how sweet cats can be after he's caught playing with a particular feline on an owner's hidden security camera visiting their cat.

One cat named Ace knows all about the bad reputation some cats can get. Because Ace suffered an infection that made him lose one of his eyes, he is misunderstood because of his unique appearance. Especially children are often frightened by animals that have visible scarring, old injuries or even missing limbs. On the one hand, this is understandable, as such injuries can give even the sweetest pet a frightening appearance. On the other hand, many of these animals are actually sweethearts who just suffered a hard life. Although he may look a little different, his owner knows how sweet and loving Ace can truly be.

Ace was adopted by Norma Maikovich after being a stray kitten, and since then, he's been a happy little ball of joy. However, people are often quick to judge a book by its cover. However, one little boy knew that Ace was a friendly cat and decided to become best friends with the feline!

Maikovich, Ace's owner, took the mischievous cat in after he was rescued as a young stray kitten. Unfortunately, an eye injury led to an infection which unfortunately cost the cat his right eye. However, this doesn't affect Ace's quality of life very much. According to Maikovich, the happy, although scarred, cat chooses to spend a lot of his time lounging around the front porch of their property. Judging from what we can see in the video, the porch is probably a sunny spot from which Ace can look over the street and guard his territory. As domesticated hunters, cats are known to be very territorial, even if they are true indoor cats (which Ace is not), or even sharing with other housecats. Cat owners have to be willing and able to deal with behaviors such as scent marking, rubbing or scratching, which cats use to mark what they consider theirs.

As Maikovich wanted to be able to keep an eye on her furry friend even while he was overseeing things from his perch on the porch, she installed home security cameras as a precaution. They afforded her an easy overview of Ace and his antics.

She took a look at her security footage one day and noticed that a small child was interacting with her cat, according to The Dodo. After weeks of the same behavior, she realized that the boy had now made stopping by to see Ace part of his daily schedule. As she told The Dodo: "When looking at the footage, we noticed one particular boy tends to visit almost every single day."

It was clear that the two had bonded to each other in their time together. Used to many people judging their family feline by his appearance, Maikovich and her family were very touched by this boy's visits. She told The Dodo:

"It melted our hearts, not just seeing how much Ace loves this boy, but how familiar they were to each other! Sitting by the front door, as soon as Ace sees his friend, he rushes out to greet him. It's awesome, this bond they share."

Thankful for his appreciation for her four-legged friend, Maikovich let the boy know that he was welcome to play with their cat anytime.

Ace has become good friends with the boy over time, even becoming so fond of his new friend that he runs outside to greet him when he sees the boy coming. Thankfully, Maikovich decided to share the adorable footage online, so now people the world over can enjoy this sweet moment of friendship.

Not only is it cute, but we can all learn a valuable life lesson from this unlikely friendship. We shouldn't judge a book by its cover — or an animal or person by their outward appearance.
