Symond Boschetto truly has a heart of gold. The young teen's compassion and generosity gave birth to a truly wonderful endeavor.

The 12-year-old boy was only 8 years old when he first realized the challenges that the homeless population faces every day. The boy from West Linn, Oregon, noticed a homeless man holding a sign asking for money for food and it broke his heart. Although he only had $5 in his pocket, the gracious boy wanted to help the man.

It did not take Symond long before deciding that he wanted to help more than just one homeless person.

With the help of his father, Russell Boschetto, Symond was able to launch the nonprofit organization called Share Hope USA. This organization hosts a myriad of feeding events, clothing drives, and other services that help the local homeless population.

To date, Symond's organization has served approximately 9,000 homeless people. Not wanting to stop with just that, Symond is looking to expand the program so that he can serve even more people.

Serving the homeless is a family affair. In addition to his father, Symond is also helped by his mother, Yesenia, and his 18-year-old sister named Hillary. The family recently moved from Los Angeles to the Portland, Oregon area.

Symond is now a 7th-grade student at Rosemond Ridge Middle School. He continues to balance his school studies with his determination to make a difference in the world.
