If you’ve ever been the new kid at school, you know just how difficult the adjustment can be. But if you make even just one special friend, things can look a little brighter. A young girl from El Paso, Texas recently went through the transition of switching schools. She soon realized it was difficult to make new friends. Although she was an adorable young girl who was kind to everyone at her new school, she had only managed to make one friend. That one friend was a little boy from her class, and she adopted him as her new best friend forever.

On one particular day, this young girl had a really rough time at school when she was bullied by some of her other female classmates.

She returned home upset from her tough time at school. To help her feel better, she decided to call her new best friend so she would be able to cheer up a little bit. Well, this boy surprised the girl by doing more than just cheering her up! He decided to ask for help from his mom, a woman named Ruby Jimenez, in order to get a ride over to the little girl’s house for the heartwarming idea he had in store for her.

Once he arrived at her house, he decided to turn on one of his favorite hit songs, “Count On Me,” sung originally by Bruno Mars and began to serenade his sad best friend.

As the little girl sits and watches her closest friend sing to her, the boy continues to jam along to the track coming from his mother’s car stereo. He knows each line by heart, and he delivers the song so genuinely that it must have made the young girl’s heart melt! The song’s lyrics are perfect for their situation, with lines like “you can count on me” and “I’ll be there!”

She must have felt extra special to have a friend like him willing to go the extra mile to cheer her up.

Once the song ends, the boy makes sure to run over to his friend and give her a giant bear hug!

The mother, Ruby, shared the footage on her Facebook page, and it quickly reached viral status. Viewers were amazed at this young boy’s capacity for sympathy and his ability to spread joy to his saddened best friend. What’s the nicest thing you’ve ever done for your best friend?
