Boy Makes Last Request To Doctor As He Goes Into Surgery - Parents Only Find Out After Surgery

Jackson McKie had been sick for almost his entire life. As a baby, he was diagnosed with hydrocephalus after doctors discovered a cyst on his brain. Over the years, Jackson has endured many different surgeries. And, now, he is preparing for yet another operation.

But, this time, he's not going alone. Jackson has a special bond with a certain stuffed animal and keeps it with him wherever he goes. So, he asked his doctors if his favorite teddy bear can have an operation as well. Dr. Daniel McNeely, who has been his neurosurgeon since he was first diagnosed, couldn't say no.

Dr. McNeely, having developed a strong bond with Jackson over the years, thought that maybe this little gesture would make the little boy feel at least a little better about having another surgery. So, when Jackson brought the teddy bear into the operating room, Dr. McNeely was ready.

He had a special operating table set up right next to where Jackson would be having his operation. There were even a few special surgical instruments laid out to prepare for the teddy bears operation. Dr. McNeely ended up using some leftover sutures from Jackson's procedure on the stuffed animal.

Rick McKie, Jackson's dad, couldn't have been more pleased with the doctor's handling of the situation. Having trusted Dr. McNeely for all these years to take care of Jackson, Rick already know what a compassionate and amazing neurosurgeon he was. This small act of kindness meant the world to Jackson and his family.

When Jackson woke up after his surgery, he was thrilled to see his favorite teddy bear laying next to him recovering as well. They even had matching stitches. What a great way for a little boy who had been through so much to have this extra bit of comfort when he really needed it!
